18 WHEELER COMPETITION - N.A.S.T. SHOW JUDGING
AND MACKINAC BRIDGE "PARADE OF LIGHTS"

SEPTEMBER 17 - 18 - 19th , 2005 in

St. Ignace, Michigan, U.S.A.

I drove down to the Truck Show from Northern Ontario, Canada. The day was clear, sunny and very warm. I suggest to anyone who wish to take photos at an event such as this, to get there bright and early. Once the crowd starts to grow, and it will,  you may become frustrated at times because the spectators will walk in front of you (in a trance) just as you are about to grab that great shot, or they may surround the truck obstructing the view. I did manage to get close to 100 Photos, crowds included. I will post them here in random order for your perusal. I felt that the show was a great success, and will attend again next year. (Earlier in the morning)

There were full tractor trailer combinations, bobtailed tractors, along with custom built Mini Models, mostly Peterbuilt conventional styles, along with chrome, chrome and more chrome. Also a section with custom cars and pick-up trucks on display. You could buy almost any chrome or stainless accessory for your rig.

St. Ignace closed off their main drag and posed equipment right in the heart of town. It was a great event, and if you needed a break, the street is lined with stores, restaurants and bars. Never was there a dull moment, and if you wanted a drastic change, you were within about 100 metres (yards) of the high flying ferry boats to Mackinac Island.

On Saturday night they have the parade of lights, all going in convoy across the Mackinac bridge and return. This is quite a sight.

If you are a truck nut, this show should not be missed. ------- Diesel Gypsy.

NOTE, -- I am to old to be politically correct, I still take photos while others take images. Ha-ha.

This 1951 Studebaker Pick-up truck was an out of the way find. Fantastic rig brings back memories. I drove one when they were new.

I'LL START SMALL AND WORK MY WAY UP, STARTING WITH THE SMALLEST.

THIS LITTLE RIG IS REAL COOL, MAN
