HEADING HOME VIA;

the Ural Mountains mostly within Russia but also including eastern Siberia neighbor regions.

At points in time, parts of the Urals were considered a gateway to Siberia.

Arriving back at Ulan Bator for a clean up, and a good rest; but first, major rear drive axle repairs.

Straight into the shop.

 

The truck body is actually a converted sea container. The dismounting of the box was no major problem, and gave clear access to the drive axles.

 

Once all was put back together, (repairs completed) the loading of a dismantled GER for transporting back to Switzerland took place, and then parked for the night.

Ready to go first thing in the morning, brought a September surprise; SNOW. (Fortunately it melted off)

 

Backing down at a crossroad to let a local float make his entry to the highway.

 

The Siberian / Russian border crossing was smooth and uneventful.

Once cleared, on the move again.

 

 

 

 

Crossing narrow old wooden decked bridges, and driving on into the night. Getting home is on the mind.

Seeing the last of Russia (Left Photo) --- (Right Photo), and then returning home after a rough 22,000 Kilometer trip.

Its time to clean up, park, and go home for a well deserved rest.

 

Bougy-Villars

This village has around 700 inhabitants if you count the surrounding houses. Numerous villas group around this community because of its exceptional view of the Lake Leman. This village also houses the famous "Tristan chocolatier" which is considered by many one of the finest chocolate in Switzerland.
