Entering the vast grasslands of Mongolia.

Mongolian Police (No problem, just a hello, are you in need of assistance?)

This sign (Above) bids farewell

Arrived at the first school delivery in Zunnkharaa, Mongolia with the desperately needed school supplies. The kids are totally fascinated with the big truck, especially the Michelin man, and treating the visit as a holiday. (Right Photo) Delivery completed and on the road again.

TRUCK STOP, MONGOLIAN STYLE

The GER(Or, Yurt)

is one of the two basic forms of portable housing that have been used by the nomads of  Mongolia  since the time of Marco Polo. Today it is still the primary form of portable housing in Mongolia and Tibet. It can be dismantled and moved within an hour. Some interiors (depending on their use) can be very sumptuous and exotic, or just functional, but always decorative.

This unique truck stop in the middle of Mongolia is a welcomed break. A chance for meeting other travelers, and sharing stories and local road information.

(Photos Above) The 2 drivers of this humongous float tractor leave the GER truck stop after a rest period.

Possibly an X-military tank transporter.

(Left Photo) The old and new way to travel.

Heading to Ulan Bator, drop the pup trailer and head out into the Altai Region on the Mongolia China border for the last delivery.
