THE CAT DOES A SLOW ROLL, AND THEN DIVES

THE CAT IS THEN RESURRECTED TO WORK ANOTHER DAY, BUT  IT WAS NO EASY TASK.

Travelling in time, now or the past? The above photos are of the past, the way it was. The photos below will transport you from the present, back to the lifestyle of our ancestors. A chance to relive the history of the great Canadian North Country.

King Of Obsolete

Is the Nick-Name of a colourful character in Northern Manitoba, Canada.

He is a scrap dealer in the summer who brings in supplies to the isolated northern villages of Manitoba in the winter, by creating and using ice roads. The unique difference from the King, is that he uses equipment from the 1930's & 40's, and sticks to the old system. There is nothing modern about this operation, except that he gets the job done.

YOUR HOST & GUIDE, THE KING OF OBSOLETE, AND SOUTHERN BELLE, THEMSELVES.

As in today's situations, there are times when equipment breaks through the ice and has to be retrieved. (the old fashioned way) The other difference is that in this day and age, his technological expertise is 65 to 70 years behind the times. It is his way of living and working in the way of years gone by. The same hardships that the pioneers endured.

He has also included adventure trips of different degrees of hardship. If you want the true pioneering experience, you can sign on for a trip through the northern wilderness of the past, as if you were in a fully functional time machine. (And NO CELL PHONES)

ARE YOU UP FOR A LITTLE OLD TIME ADVENTURE?

ABOVE, --- THE KING AND HIS HIGH TECH EQUIPMENT, (FROM 70 YEARS AGO.)

This is an actual close-up view of what an ice road looks like. Would you have the nerve to drive a 100,000 + lbs. truck over clear ice such as this? How deep can this spot be? Would you be willing  to try it?

This is just an outline of what an adventure into history can be. It is available in this day and age. I suggest that if you want more information on this subject, you go to the KING OF OBSOLETE web site. It contains hundreds of photos and descriptions about this man's life in the Canadian North Country. CLICK ON THE LEFT PHOTO (THE KING OF OBSOLETE), AND GO DIRECT.
